Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Interpretive Centre: Lesothosaurus

Lesothosaurus is a small genus of ornithischian dinosaur that lived during the Early Jurassic in what is now South Africa and Lesotho. It was named by paleontologist Peter Galton in 1978, the name meaning "lizard from Lesotho". The genus has only one valid species, Lesothosaurus diagnosticus. Lesothosaurus is one of the most completely-known early ornithischians, based on numerous skull and postcranial fossils from the Upper Elliot Formation.

I carefully digitally reconstructed Lesothosaurus from fossil records with intensive input from Dr Kimberley Chapelle.

Our Lesothosaurs were then fully 3D printed and hand-finished at Scale Studios Nz, hand painted by our incredible team; @nika_beaton @the_desserter_nz @mika_turnbull @punkbogan @louie.w_k @charmant_cherie with eyes by @fourthsealstudios

Lesothosaurus now prowls at the Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Interpretive Centre — a stunning new museum in Golden Gate Highlands National Park, South Africa by @digitalfabricsa Digital and @office247_architecture.

Early on we decided to have three dinoaurs in a dynamic cluster with all the heads at different heights.
